Hello, all! I’m back from vacation. I’m glad to be back, but at the same time, I feel like a weekend off was not enough of a reboot of my system to motivate me to do much. Our air conditioning unit is also out and with the weather reaching up in the 80s and it being humid as fuck, no one at our house feels like doing a lot of anything. Except maybe my son. His medicine has worn off, so he’s running around like Sonic the Hedgehog.
It was a nice weekend, and I’m glad we took that time off. We bought more moonshine than we should have. We almost beat an escape game meant for 8 people with just us (and the sweet employees gave us a card when we told them we were there on our anniversary). We ate a 3-course meal with our bare hands while watching people ride around on horses. We toured the Titanic and found out the person from my husband’s boarding pass died while mine lived. Other than a brief bout of being sick, the weekend was very much needed time away from everything.
But all good things must come to an end. Time to get back to the way things were before I went on vacation. Going to the gym, going to work, going to therapy, going to pick my son up from school. I’ve been listening to the Critical Role podcast and watching Try Not To Laugh Challenge videos on YouTube (my favorites are from Markiplier and Fine Brothers Entertainment) to get me through this first week back. If I can get through this first week, then I think I’ll be fine. It’s always that first week that’s the hardest. At least for me.
Where was I going with this? I forgot.
Anyway, I had a blast while on vacation. Where do you like to go on vacation? Is there a specific place? Do you prefer stay-cations? Or do you use vacation time to just do work around your home?
Until next time!
